Cyndi Lauper made this song famous with her release in 1989, and her version of this song made the top 10 on both sides of the Atlantic.

Roy Orbison recorded this as well, but it was only released after his death in 1992.

Céline Dion did a version in 2003, and of course that one became my favorite. It topped the charts in Canada - no surprise - but also did extremely well all around the world, eventually becoming the version that everyone knows and requests.
