Originally performed by American country/pop singer Skeeter Davis in 1962, the Carpenters did a version that was very successful in 1975. English singer Sonia recorded her version of this classic song in 1990 and it made it into the top 20 in the US Singles Chart.

The song has been covered by a number of other high profile artists over the years, and has been features in several movies both on the big screen and made for television. There has even been a Japanese version of this popular song.
