Recorded in 1970, Karen’s impeccable performance of this Christmas classic set the tone for many other artists to cover this song over the decades.

No matter who sings it, I always hear Karen in my head. She was such a remarkable talent.

Just an interesting bit of trivial. The lyrics for the song were written in 1944 by Frank Pooler, who later would give them to Richard and Karen when he was their choral arts director in college. Richard wrote the tune, Karen sang lead and backup vocals, and a chart topping classic was born.

The Glee cast did this song in 2010, and my version is arranged in a similar fashion to their release.
